Wilayat al-Faqih in the Islamic governance system is more than a political institution; it is a juridical-political mechanism that, through integrating religious legitimacy with rational foundations of governance, provides the groundwork for enhancing management and reducing governance errors. The principal challenge within this system lies in the gap between jurisprudential and ethical principles and practical managerial performance, which leads to decreased efficiency, the spread of corruption, and deviation from the prescribed religious path. Using a descriptive-analytical method, this study demonstrates that Wilayat al-Faqih, grounded in principles such as justice, piety, religious supervision, consultation, and accountability, can offer a guiding framework for reforming governance processes. By strengthening consultative governance, institutionalizing oversight and accountability, regenerating social capital, and evaluating performance based on religious and legal standards, this mechanism contributes to improving the quality of Islamic management. While preserving religious legitimacy, Wilayat al-Faqih—through flexible jurisprudential principles and the use of modern managerial tools—presents an effective model for governance within the Islamic system. The findings indicate that this mechanism not only prevents the abuse of power but also facilitates the realization of administrative justice and the reduction of errors at various levels of decision-making.
